A STORY THAT WAS TOLD BY PAT WATSON, CLASS OF 1955

The senior boys would grease the pole in the pit then catch the freshman walking by and put him in the pit. He would be there all day unless he could climb up the pole or Charlie Moore, the janitor happened to walk by and rescue him.

Here is another view of the top of the pits.
This photo is on page 58 in the 1954 Grig, but is not identified by names. The caption reads, “Noon cramming.” Submitted by Ann Mays Harlan, class of 1958
The boy on the right looks like Billy Fuller to me. Submitted by Linda Holt Moorehead, Class of 1961
I believe the two boys pictured are Billy Fuller, class of 1956 and Thomas Lewis, class of 1954
Chuck Liles, Class of 1954
Without hesitation James said that was "our" Tommy Lewis
and Billy Fuller in the picture. This is not Earlene's
Tommy Lewis. This one graduated in 1954, I think it was, and was with the Blue Angels in 1961-62, at least.
He now lives in Bossier after retiring from a teaching career. We talked to him about a year ago.
